Getting the chance at a dream

Growing up I have always wanted to do play by play on the radio and this past week that opportunity arrived. While I have done colour commentating numerous times, some in the SJHL, WHL and in the Long Lake Hockey League, I have not had the chance to do play by play. While I have been out of radio for almost four years, the opportunity came to me as my good buddies from Melfort needed a hand. So, I got the chance Jan. 7 and in my hometown, none-the-less, as the Lanigan Pirates played Watrous. The night before I did some colour commentating for the LLHL in Drake as Watrous visited the Canucks. In any case, I really enjoyed the opportunity and can't thank the crew at CJVR enough for the that chance. I should also clarify here that I also enjoy writing at the newspaper in Watrous and have no intentions of leaving, but when the opportunity presented itself I couldn't refuse. I also had some help as Jeremy Engele from town lent a hand in Watrous. I also thank God for the opportunity as He has opened many doors here during my time back in town. Here are a couple of pics from the two nights.
