Olympic medal!

I had a cool opportunity last week as more than 700 students and over 100 advisors descended on Watrous for the SLC event Make A Wave. The provincial event was last held in the community in 1993...in any case, some of the guest speakers included Fred Fox, Terry Fox's brother and women's Olympic curler Cori (Bartel) Morris who won silver at Vancouver. Morris also brought with her the silver medal she won and let me try it on. Students also got the chance to pose with the medal too--it was pretty cool!

At the beach - one last time

We went to Manitou Beach over the September Long-Weekend for essentially one more kick at the can before summer disappeared. We have been able to get down there more than before which I hope will continue in summers to come since we only live a couple of minutes away...in any case here are a few pictures from that evening...
